Is this basically just the cigarette lighter? I was looking at the electrical section of the helms and want to make sure I'm thinking of the right area.

 

Yes Hondas are non smoking cars, none come with the lighter so that's what they call it.

mine had a lighter... and i've seen a couple other preludes with em too.

 

That is classic. Almost one of the best things I've heard on this forum. Mine has one.

 

y'know i never really looked into it, but i mentioned it way back when i first bought her and that's what the dealership told me. never really thought about it, but i meant 5th gens, not all hondas sorry bout that.

course that could be wrong too, we all know how much salesmen really know. mine did not come with one, only a plug with 12V on it. same with all 5th's i've seen, so i never questioned it.

i will now go play in traffic for my mistake.

 

It is usually an option for the lighter/ashtray. Acura wanted an assload when we bought our RSX, we wouldn't use that **** so we didn't pay for it.

I don't have it in mine either. Like I said before, Acura wanted a grip, so I'm sure Honda did as well.

You know what....my bad. I was in a hurry earlier. Yep, mine doesn't have a lighter either. Just a little plastic cap for the socket. Thanks for your help.

my 4th gen had 2 ashtrays and a lighter too bad i dont smoke

 

like i said, just 5ths are that way. and new accords too it seems, i asked a couple people who have 05 accords. i bet the element is too.

 

my fourth gen has a lighter....did not work for like 2 years, then one day I tried it and it worked....


kind of off but my girl's civic (2001) did not come with a lighter and I even remember the sales guy saying 'yeah this is a non-smoking car...blah blah'
