ABS light came on while driving...
I was driving around town and came to a stop and hit the brakes and my abs light came on. Pulled over, turned off the car, started it back up and the abs light went off. I then drove for maybe 10 or 15 minutes then the abs light came on again. I was so close to home I decided to keep driving but when I hit the brakes the pedal would kind of jerk and the best description I can give is that it would kick back out at me and I would have to push harder in order to brake. I've let it sit for awhile and took it out today around the block using the brakes as much as possible and the abs never came on. Any ideas? I plan on taking it to the shop soon, but for now is it safe to drive around town? ... Or should I stop driving it till I get it checked? Thanks for any help!!
So the brakes are behaving like ABS is kicking in when you apply your brakes under normal conditions?
Pull the ABS fuse and drive around. See if the pedal still pulsates.
First thing I would do is replace the ABS fuse. Next, jack up the car and clean off your axles. Could be some debris on the ABS rings on the axles.
Try that and let us know if it still persists.

my ABS light is on too. because one of my sensors got ripped off
. but theres no need for ABS in florida. mine has never ever kicked on.
but id check for a split in the wire or like someone else mentioned the teeth on the axle could be gummed over or the sensor could have something on it.

I'm having the exact same problem. I was thinking it might be the abs module, but I'll do what you guys say first. Hopefully, the problem will be fixed from those simple procedures.
