About the ATTS Computer...
Hey guys
Im looking at this sweet 5th gen with low miles and for cheap. So, i was talkin to the guy over the phone and he said that he dropped 1g off his original price because the ATTS light went on in his car. So, he took it to a Honda dealership and they said the ATTS computer needed replacing. They said 750. I was all, damn man, just for a computer? Does this sound right to you guys, or does it sound like hes getting ripped off?
Oh, since the ATTS light is on, that means it isnt working and nothing else right? The car will still drive fine and all the power will be there? Thanks in advance.

I would be willing to bet that the ATTS computer is NOT bad. There are various reasons for the ATTS malfunction light to come on. Many TypeSH owners experience it. But I've NEVER heard of the reason being that the ATTS computer went bad...
It can come on when the car is lowered to much or one of the special sensors that ATTS monitors goes bad or when you have the wrong size wheels and tires on the car or even when your alignment is out of whack etc... ATTS seems like a very sensitive and fickle system to me. Many SH owners experience unexplained intermittant ATTS warning lights on occaisionally. When the ATTS light comes on, many SH owners just reset the unit and keep driving until it comes on the next time... And you can certainly drive the car just as normal even if the ATTS system has decided to shut itself off.
If the ATTS computer really is bad, you can probably get a used ATTS box out of a junkyard car for well under $100. The ATTS box would be completely useless to most people. So I would bet that demand and prices for used ones is not high.

Aklucsartits: Thanks alot for the help. I too have read up a lil before posting this and it seems like the system is very tempermental. So, with that in mind, its probably one simple thing such as pulling the bat. cable or resetting the ecu or whatnot. Again, thanks for the help.
Prelude1897 and Gruvylude: If indeed i need a new computer, i will certainly let you guys know. Thanks for the support.
