98 lude SH shift linkage problem?

i have a prelude but it doesnt want to get in gear the gears are to hard i bought a new shift linkage still has the same problem i also have a short shifter adapter can that cause the problem?

Check to see if your slave cyl is giving enough throw on the fork. Also, your TO bearing might need replacing. How many miles on the clutch?
