Default '97 Prelude CEL code p0301

Bought the lude about 2 weeks ago, CEL came on a few days ago so took it in to see what codes it gave. I got p0301, p0302, p1300, p0402. First thing I looked at was the air filter, black as night and full of pine needles and leaves... replaced that, reset CEL, sure enough the 3rd time driving it after that the CEL cameback on, this time the only code it gave was p0301... So I replaced the spark plugs and plug wires. Reset the CEL, and of course it came on again the 3rd time driving it. Whats my next step? Check what codeit gives again? And if its still the cylinder 1 misfire, what do I check/replace?

run a compression check and see what you have on that cylinder should be 200 220 psi you can rent one at autozone. if you have low compression you need a new head gasket. on the easier side of things check your ignition wire comming off the dizzy ground it to the block and see what u get. more than likely you valves are bent and youll need a new gasket. how many miles run a dry and wet compression check on the cylinder. does the exhaust sound like a "ta ta ta ta ta" or consistent and does it seem a little boggy when you drive?

Replace the distributor cap & rotor if you didn't as well (both fairly cheap), but you may have a bigger problem. Compression check is the next thing to do.
