95 Prelude Vtec Problems. NEED HELP!
My cars running really funny and i cant seem to figure out whats wrong with it so any input would be greatly appreciated. I will be as detailed as possible, thanks in advance.
Ok so about a month ago i took out my motor to rebuild for boost, long story short i had the motor out blew the motor in my other car and had to drive the lude again. so i put the tranny,clutch etc back together and put the motor back in.
since all this my motor wont rev up past 3000 rpms sometimes 3500 and some other times 4000. but when it does hit these rpms the motor will jerk/hesitate and the CEL will flash. It will also do this if im on the express way and hit a bump, or even if i gas around corners. its very very odd, mind you im a mechanic do all the work on my own and cant seem to figure out why the hell its doing this. i can rev the motor up at an idle but once it hits 5500 rpms the CEL will flash quick.
I feel like its a tranny problem kinda but im not sure before i start messing with stuff, so if any body has experienced this or can help please do so. thanks, if a video is needed to show you i will do my best.

i honestly have no clue buddy, it just flashes on for not even a second and turns off, like it will jerk the cel then back again. weird
i never had a CEL in either of my preludes, except when i first put the motor back in this lude and hooked up a couple missed vacuum lines and switched around a plug i mixed up. ive tried resetting the ecu and nothing has happened
so today my tach started jumping a little bit, like 60 m.p.h at 3000 rpms it would jup up to 4500 and start bouncing back and forth, i think it s a timing issue but i have no clue. i guess we will see after i do my water pump timing belt on Tuesday when snap-on gives me the damn crank pulley tool cause that bolts rediculous
i dnt think u should mess with something else until u figure out wats wrong first. chances are ur timing belt is fine along with the timing. it sounds more like an ignition issue to me thats where i would start

i know i tried messing with that already too and nothing happened, id slow and speed the ignition timing and nothing would happen. i looked at my cam gears and the top dead center marks dont look like they match up. my car didnt start doing this untill one day i drove it for like 2 hours and was driving through a parking garage and my car randomly turned off and wouldnt start for like 30 minutes.
i have had the same problem and after doing some looking do a pressure test on the combustion chamber. when i did mine i found out only two of my exhaust valves were sealing the rest had 75% blow by. have you checked for vacuum leaks even just a small one on these cars seem to send them crazy. well give that a shot i am putting my head back on wen i will let you know if it helped my issue.

If it has anything to do with combustion loss or any air loss inside your motor this is how u would find it. it doesnt hurt to check and farly easy. I agree with mulletomally that a vac leak is very possible.
you can check for a vac by useing map gas or bernzomatic and spray the gas all around the intake manifold and vac lines. if the idle changes that is were ur leak is. it doesnt hurt to try.

i know the compression is good i did the leak down test already, im about to screw with some vacuum lines and stuff and see what happens. thanks, ill let you know what happens
my timing belt must have been stretched out, and my top dead center marks didn't match up so i replaced the water pump timing belyt and reset the marks even and now its good again.
last time my motor wouldnt rev past 3500 it was one of the injectors unplugged.....dont know if that might help one of you guys but easy check and if that is the problem easy fix
