Default 95 lude

I personally am an accord guy, but my friend just got a 95 si with the H23. He previously had a 300zx, so our combined prelude knowledge is very little. We would like any opinions on this particular engine. We are also looking at an unorthodox racing clutch for this car and would appreciate any info on this product from someone who has one. thanks

as far as clutches go, hit up ebay for an exedy clutch setup. i never knew unorthodox was in the clutch game.

the h23 is decently strong and can pull but it just lacks up top. h23s are decent for mild turbo setups if your friend has that kind of money.

if he's more of an NA type of fellow, an h23 bottom end/h22 head is a possible combination.

the thing is- turboing (mildly) and making an h23vtec (correctly) cost roughly the same, but turbo can yield higher hp/tq numbers. however, if you have good cams/valvetrain and build the bottom end of the h23vtec, you can make a consistant and reliable NA motor.

ask some more specific questions too if theres anything else you want to know. the h23 has some potential, but only under FI

Exedy stage 1 was actually the first choice and was only passed up because UR was about 50 bucks cheaper. Also these prices were from either Jeg's or JCW so we'll check out ebay and see whats up. Thanks a lot for the help, thats really some extensive and helpful info.

The blocks are identical. The thing is the crank and piston configuration changed for the vtec. I think the h22 has less of a stroke.
