Default 94 Vtec problem!

i got this problem with the car, when i push the car hard real hard, then when i slow down at a red light the car dies.. lolz and when i drive and pump my system hard, car dies too, and also if i dont drive the car for a couple days, battery totally dead, but if i drive the car everyday its fine, as long as i dont beat it to 8000rpm or pump my system... i think its the alternator,,, not charging my battery, what do you guys think???

Alternator sounds to be going. You should test your battery also.

yes sounds like the altenator, make sure you have proper tension on the altenator belt also, if it is slack you found your problem. if its tight, then get a new one, its very easy to replace.

Are you running aftermarket pullies at all? Also, maybe you need a capacitor for your system?

Before you buy an alternator at least have a mechanic or yourself test the current/volts being generated just to make sure it's the alternator

yes i have AEM pulley. yea i think i need a cap too, but the thing is even i when i dont turn my system on, if i jus drive real hard, the car will die too, and when i dont drive the car for couple days, battery totally dies.

if the battery dies after a couple of days just sitting there then it isnt the alternator. sounds to me like the battery is bad. i would go get a charging system check at the local parts house. i just had to buy an alternator for my car (it has 208k) and it cost 199.99 + tax and a 95.00 core. maybe i got ripped but i did price check

The stock alt is 90 amps made by Nippen Denso (high quality.) I'd go with a rebuilt stocker, it's powerful and well made. These are simple tests for a shop to do.

umm its def not the battery, its a optima blue seal... the best of the optima battery, and reving to 8k is no prob.. the car used to run on 10lbs boost and nos when the previous owner had it, have aftermarket piston and rods, once the alternator didnt charge at all, and the shop did something to make it work, i guess they just did it so my car can be driven, thanks guys for the info, i will just get a rebuilt one, sounds good for under $200
