Sorry to post this but my options are different now, searched everywhere but no help on downsizing. Well I got a 93 Prelude SI which has the 2.3L and the block is bad. Now I don't want to spend too much money on the same motor since the car is a winter beater. Now my question is can I fit the 2.2L non-VTEC from either a Prelude or an Accord into my car? And what parts do I need? Can I keep the same tranny from the 2.3L? Axles? Etc? I never done a prelude or seen anyone downsize it so if you know please help me.

 

well i dont know why you want to downgrade, just stick w/ the h23... the price is not that bad for a short block

on hmotors the longblock for the h23 is 1000 plus shipping not to bad

yes, you can re-use your tranny on the f22a1 motor. with the $300, I'd rather save up a lil more and get a h23a1 longblock or JDM h22a.

 

Thanx guys for all your help...hard to find nowadays. The reason I don't want to put a h22 in there is because it's my winter beater and I rather throw the h22 in my 92 hatch. So trying to get the best of both worlds.

 

i'm sure u could find a short block for less then 1k. i guy around me is sellin a h23 longblock for less then 500.
