'88 AWS engine light
The check engine light on my '88 AWS SI keeps on coming on. It seems to only come on when I pound it up a hill. I don't have a factory manual, and the one I got now says nothing about the light. Anyone know what it could be?
go to the passenger side floor mat. at the top in the middle of where you'd put your feet (right beneath the glove box almost against the firewall) there will be a small square of carpet that folds over. fold it over.
this will reveal a small lens with a light inside. put your key in the ignition to accessoryII, but dont start the car. the light will flash the trouble code for the engine.
1 short flash = 1. 1 long flash=10
~30 sec pause before repeating a code.
once you know what code is setting off the engine light, you'll know where to start looking.
