Default 8 pound flywheel

I bought an 8 pound Fidanza Flywheel for my 92 Prelude. I just wanna know if it was a good choice or should i go with something heavier.

Nice choice... it should rev quick, but might bog if you don't give it enough gas... 8lb's leaves you very little rotational mass. You just dropped roughly 60% of the flywheel weight. I love mine, but I have the ***** enough to back it up. If you don't mind dealing with getting used to driving a little differently fom stoplights, you'll probably love it too.

Birmingham huh? What part?

ahhh... yeash... j00 know Talley. LOL Let me guess... he told you that you could get a 5 lb flywheel, and that if you ran the exhaust out the hood, you'd have 300 whp. LOL....

Welcome to the board... I think you'll like the flywheel... I loved my 9lb one. What clutch setup are you getting?

Ok, i admit Tally is an idiot when it comes to honda or acura. When it comes to ford and chevy V8's hes a genius. I think im gonna stick with either Jim Hailbing or myself for anything else. Or maybe you if it comes down to it. Im getting an ACT 6-puck with heavy duty pressure plate.

I have two numbers for you:
Don Elliot/The Civic Center: 205-515-7921
or Angelo Roberson/Holy Smoke Racing: 205-661-2833

Don is my mechanic... he's less expensive. I trust him completely. Angelo is another option if you feel that you've heard too many rumors about Don. (Most of which were started by one person.)

Before you make any decisions, call either one of those two. Between Angelo and Don they have more years experience as Honda/Acura specialists than Jim has been alive.

DISCLAIMER: I have not said a single word about Jim and or any of the work he does/has done or his character/business/family. My opinion is you should call those numbers and speak with those people.

As far as Tally goes, I don't doubt what you say... he talked about Fassell's Integra like it was a stroked 383... LOL But, to each his own.

Oh, and a 6 puck? Wow, you'll bite hard. Not my choice for driving in traffic, but a great racing combo.

Would lightening and balancing an OEM flywheel to 8lbs be too extreme? Or would the 12lb ACT OEM lightened and balanced flywheel be as far as u would want to go with an OEM piece?

From what I've heard lightening OEM flywheels weakens them too much, but then again I don't know anyone who has first hand experience with them.

You can't go 8 lbs on an OEM flywheel with a Lude. 12 is about as light as you can shave a stock one down to I believe.

heh. first hand experience... with a stock flywheel lightened to 8lb, it might be more like first (and only) foot experience.
