Default 5th generation speedo issue

Hey my name is Dave I'm 32 I live on ontario Canada small town northern ontario. I own a 5th gen bb6. I bought the car with a bunch of goodies already in it. The car is base model with ss 4 speed. After it blew up I swapped it for a Jdm m2a4. Every thing worked fine but then speedo died on me I swapped out my cluster with a 2001 base lude 5 speed same results. a lot of u will say to change my vss. But my vtec still works...

I would start checking the wiring, to see where you are losing the signal, instead of throwing parts at it.

It started working again all by itself. It stays stuck at 20kph then goes up as I accelarate still reading slow but compared with Gps and its reading pretty accurately

It does sound like the vss. I had intermittent speedo issues and my vtec still worked. replaced the vss and all was good.

I'd give that a try. If you're going to throw parts at it, the vss is going to be one of the cheaper ones to try.
