I have a 99 base, and whenever I use my remote keyless entry the lights don't blink on the prelude, or anything. 1st question is, are they supposed to? and 2nd, if they are, any clue as to why they aren't doing it? is there a fuse? Thanks in advance.

It needs to read the chip key code for it to start...

huh? to start? it's just a lock/unlock STOCK honda remote keyless entry. It doesn't have a start.. I just want to re-itterate that this isn't an aftermarket alarm/keyless entry. This is the OEM Honda keyless entry that the 5th gen's came with.

I have a 2000 base model and i use the factory honda keyless entry and it doesn't ever flash the lights or anything when i lock it! im not 100% sure but i dont think its supposed to.

dont think they come on, Only the interior light would come on when i unlocked it. But i think this happens whenever you hit the unlock switch.

no the lights dont flash, just the interior lights and i think the interior door panel lights come on. i have a 97 SH, and got the remote when i bought it about a year ago, but it doesnt work. wondering if theres any ways i could install it again. any ideas if the honda dealership could do it?
well, I broke my keyless entry today, how awesome is that? yeah I'm pretty upset so I will need to go tomorrow and buy another one from honda, and I'm pretty sure it has to be programmed to the car. I will check on that, and get back with you guys.

ya preludes dont light up or honk or anything, which is dumb because most hondas would honk if you pressed the lock button twice. i would care but im getting my compustar installed soon.

hence why the prelude is called "keyless entry" where as the other honda's usually have alarms. If you have a prelude with an Optional Alarm the lights and horn would go off when you lock/unlock, it would also sound the horn and flash the lights if someone broke in. the prelude "keyless entry" does not..
