4th Gen Prelude
Has it happen to anyone that when you're stuck in a traffic jam for 1+ hours that is literally stop and go...and your bars (the one that tells you how hot the car is) go all the way to "H" ??? If so is it normal?, because I just installed a new radiator a month or two ago.
NO!!!! That is VERY bad!!!!
The car should run with only two bars showing no matter how long you sit in traffic or let the car idle.
How long does it take to get to overheat??

You need more coolant. Have you checked your radiator reservoir??

Nope- That has never happened to me....I would look into that right away. THat is really bad for your engine
Are you sure that the fans are hooked up correctly? It sounds like to me that your fans are not going on.....

Prelude fans always do that. You just noticed it now since you are paranoid about them not working properly.

I have had something similar happen to me. From what you have said, I would suggest checking the fans as everyone has said, then check the coolant. When you are checking the fans, make sure the fans are connected properly. If I remember properly, when the car is running, only one fan comes on to keep the engine cool. But when the car is turned off, both fans run to cool the engine down while siting still. I would check those three things and if that is not the problem, try putting your old radiator back in. Could be a bad radiator.
hahaha funny ( BUUUUUMMMMer)
well recheck everything and the fan come on when it needs too so dont trip and check the thremaste (spelling heheh) maybe a crack somewhere in the tubing i guess well have fun.....

Mine goes up too 3 bars all the time and stays there. And I also replaced my radiator a few months ago. Oh yeah and I have a JDM f22b, should I worry about this or is it ok?
because I've been running it like this since the swap and no problem yet.

i had this also happen to me where my fans stayed on after i shut the car off. NEVER has it done this before since i've had the car for 2 years. Turns out it was my coolant level. Just make sure it's topped off. He did say that his fans work cuz they were on after he turned off the car.

Before I installed the new radiator it was at 3 bars constantly because I had a leak in the radiator...Now its at 2 bars before this incident in the traffic

are you guys counting the small bar as a bar??? I think the normal operating is right in the middle... 2 big bars and the tiny one on the left. Your thermostat could be stuck shut too... might wanna check that... so check your coolant and fans first..if they seem to be ok... check your thermostat.
