seriously get an oem, or a direct fit replacment. It sounds like you are using the one that you wire into the honda harness. This is NO GOOD, the o2 sensor works on 1/2 volt of electricity, any lack of quality in the connection and cause a varience in signal great enough to make the car run poorly

u should check the code and stop guessing, considering you haven't run your car in 6 months, anything could happen in that amount of time.

Re: 4 wire o2 sensor help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (H22A EG6)
i am starting to think i might be the timing
when my friend and i installed a new motor in his bug the timing was way off my car is kinda running like that
what do you guys think
but i did not touch the motor so i dont know how the timing would be off. any possible explanations for this?

Less posting, more checking of codes . . . .

Sorry, but the OEM sensors are a complete rip-off . . . . The $60 universals are the exact same thing, just take a tiny amount of care when you're wiring it up.
Besides, when you first start the car up, it's not looking at the sensor - it's in open-loop operation. The symptoms remaining with the sensor removed supports this. So something else is going on - poor timing (either cam or ignition) could easily cause it, but check the code first and go from there.

This is very true, if it is running poor at a cold start you most likely have another problem, could be a vaccum leak in the intake mani, check to make sure that a line didn't get cut during install

"93" civic, right? The wire color at pin D4 should be brown. Just backprobe that pin with a paperclip or something and connect the other end to ground.
