3rd Gen Engine Swaps?
So, I just bought a CHEAP 3rd gen lude in awesome condition... except for the engine, which seems to be burning a lot of oil. I haven't had it looked at yet, but it will probably end up that I need a new engine. What are my options? I've got a B20A non-vtec now... I'm looking to pick up something cheap (maybe from ebay).
Does anyone know if the other B series engines (B16/B18) swap right in? Or, how hard is the H20/H22 upgrade?
Unfortunately there aren't a whole lot of good engine swap places up here near Boston, so I need something that a fairly inexperienced shop can't f**k up.

B16 in a 3rd gen is not very practical. H20 does not exist.

the b16/b18 will fit but tehres nothing thats made fas a swap kit....the motor you ahve now is a b21a1, its got FRM sleeves and i think aluminum alloy rings or somthing, it causes alot of friction when the oil isnt changed freequently enough, tehn it starts to burn...
the motor you want is a JDM b20a its a NON vtec motor not from a CRV, you need to swap the USDM manifolds onto it, and use the JDM water hose and its a direct drop in from there...
teh H22 will go in with the use of place racing motor mounts, ecu harness and axels, but yo;re looking at about 5 grand for everything...and a 13-12sec car depending on driver...
you may wannacheck out http://www.preludepower.com we're mostly 3rd gnners there...
and i drive a 91 trick lude if that gives me any authenticity for what i ahve just said
