Default 1998 prelude ecu problems!

does anyone know when u change the factory ecu if u have to do anything else to make the new ecu run the car?

if its a tunable obd1 ecu, like hondata or something, t needs at least a somewhat appropriate basemap in it....

if you are switching to another obd2 prelude ecu, you will have immobilizer issues.....im sure someone who knows more about that will chime in....

accually the car has been 11.9@114 on stock motor. by stock i mean there are no internal work. it still has the stock header on it. but i have a 100 shot of gas on it.

yea i figured that but the only way to change the ecu's is to take it to the honda dealer so they can reprogram it.

i have only made about 10 passes on the setup and only 2 times without the gas it ran 13.3 and i only lauched it at 3000 so im guessing on the motor it should run maybe 13.0-13.1. but im still trying to decide if im going to boost it or spray the **** out of it. i had a full built dart b series motor that made 650whp and i couldnt drive it daily so thats why i did the k swap and i dont know if i want to be back in that boat again.

wait, so you're asking about the ecu for your K motor?

hes talking about the ecu for the lude. we just went off topic and was talking about his k20 hatch.
