Default 1996 p13 in 99 lude...will it cause problems?

any risks here?
my fiancee has a 99 lude with centerforce clutch, i/h/e and a p&p'd head. it feels mostly like stock with the wonderful p5m in it...for kits i put in a 1996 p13 and it pulls a lot stronger across the full range. with the p5m it would often bog slightly at low to mid range, now it pulls more evenly and vtec feels a lot stronger.

i know the diff in th injectors...96 has peak and hold 345cc at appr 42 psi. the 99 has 290cc saturated with 48 psi.

is anything likely to fail? i have run an ecu for saturated injectors with peak and holds with the resistor box without an issue....hoping this works as well.

thanks for any comments...

i dont think its a good idea....

if your dealing with different injectors and it "feels faster" you probably leaned the car out alot

youu need to install an injector resistor box or an individual resistor on each injector harness or you will burn up the computer fast.

you probably did not lean it out that bad due to the 5th gens run about 10 psi more fuel pressure.

flow rates are the same at the pressure they operate at actually.
and the ecu didnt burn out at all. it works as well as running peak and hold injectors with a p28/72....the computer sees approximately the same resistance with high or low impedance injectors. if i was to add the resistor box i would be putting way too much resistance on the circuit and that would for sure burn the ecu up.

anyway i threw a check engine light after a few days so i swpaped it back without even bothering to check.

the reason i suspect i felt faster is the 1996 p13 is basically an obd1 ecu with obd2 pinouts.

That's completely false. 5th gen Preludes have saturated injectors, there is no need for a resistor box.

yep your right i jumped ahead of myself and got mixed up. the reesistance of the saturated is already increased so the ecm wont know the difference.
