12 second or Less
Hey all, First off Id like to introduce myself, Im Diego from Northern California, I drive a 93' Si Lude 17' Konigs Yokohamas
All Stock .
I was wondering, How much work, and especially how much cash will it take to make an All-Motor 12 second or Less Lude. Can it be done??
I have yet to see a Lude run 12 or less off Nos.
I barely got the Car about 1 month ago. I really want to make the car fly.
Or can I make my Lude Haul ***? and Approx How Much Cash ?

Headers??
New Throttle Body??
UnderDrive Pulleys??

12's all motor is hard, I would guess it would take over 15k to run 12's all motor. Its gonna be cheaper if you bo with FI, nitrous being the cheapest. It also depends on how deep into the 12's you want to be. The differance in money and work to run a 12.9 vs a 12.0 is actually quite a bit. You could probably run a 12.9 with a 100-125 shots of nitrous, assuming you have drag radials or slicks. It also depends of the driver, there has been times when people have ran a 13.4 on a 75shot and everything else stock. I am personally all about nitrous, so I will leave the boost and all motor to others who know more than I do.

but seriously, to break 12's with a 3000lb car fitted with a 160hp motor is going to take a lot of cash, boost, and creativity.

I think ludes are on the heavy side for a 1/4 car... Best way is to go FI like the guy said a few posts ago. It would be nice if ludes were 2700lbs or so. Big $$$ to get a fast all motor import... especially if you take it into a shop to get everything done.
I consider the turbo system motor,Its artificial power to the Motor, but its <u>legal on the road</u>, just like superchargers.
EDIT: BTW no matter what you do it's gonna cost you a lot of money to get your SI into the 12's. Even if you swap to an H22, you'd still have to build it up and throw in the turbo or nitrous.

you don't *have* to build it up.. just don't go abusing it all the time and it will last, atleast for a long while. You can sink about $5000-$6000 doing your own labor and be into the 12's (well i guess I'd switch your engine over to a H22A then sink the money in). That's what we did and with only 1 run last year with everything complete (and not quite tweeked yet) we pulled a 12.97 with stock internals
Well, an 12 second full interior prelude will run you about the price of a new car, atleast 20K. Also, be prepared to buy race gas or octane boosters, cause its going to require 13:1 or greater compression.
Also, even with the H22A is going to cost a lot of money to stay NA.

Todd needs to be the one to answer this, but he was low 13's with full interior. Would have hit 12's with slicks and some dyno time.
Bottom line is, if you want to keep your full interior, spare, stereo, ect.. and hit 12's... be prepared to do some serious work. Nitrous, Turbo, or NA, Lots of $$ will be spent.

If you wanted to drag, then you bought the wrong car. Shoulda gotten a Domestic with a shitty suspension and throw some nitrous on it. Cuz that's all that it's good for anyways...
But if you wanted a comfortable ride, with excellent handling, and a great daily driven car...then you made the right choice.
To get 12's all motor, get a Civic Hatch, strip it to the bone around 1600lbs, drop in an H22. The basic mods I/H/E and some slicks and you might break 12's. Maybe.

i was replying to blueshadow's post about having to build and using turbo and nitrous.. you can just use a turbo and don't spray the nitrous into the engine on stock parts
It's possible to make a 12 second all motor lude... All you need is a **** load of money and alot of tunning.. I'd say go with drag gen 3 turbo kit with full internals and an LSD should do the tirck. and maybe even 11s with drag radials.. who knows.. but don't buy a domestic, they are unreliable POS's
