Went to motorcycle dealership yesterday...saw GSXR600, 1000, and R1
i went to the dealership yesterday and sat on the R1 and GSXR600.
as for the R1, yeah its a heavy bike and with my inexperience I knew right away, i'd kill my self if I start off on one of those..... I then sat on the GSXR600 and noticed that that bike should be a bit more manageble.
I'm 6'0 tall and weigh 130 pounds......am I too tall for a GSXR600?
But anyhow a 600cc bike is what I could probably start off with....we'll see...
But I dont know how comfortable the riding position is.
Anyone here 6'0 tall and rides a 600? How comfortable is it?

6'0" and 130lbs? you sure you'll be able to pick up a bike when you drop it?
j/p man... my CBR 600 weighs ~440 or so wet too... the first thing you'll notice about these bikes is that they are very top heavy. I'm 5'11" and 155 and I fit my CBR fine... I have a friend who is like 5'6" or so who has a gixxer 600... have another friend who is like 6'2" or so and rides one as well. Your size shouldn't be a problem. also a search might be helpful, here's a thread about being 6'5" and wanting a sportbike https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=359901

WTF is my friend who is 6"4 gonna do, hes getting a bike on a few months. I know that R6 is not for tall people
You think a bike that weights 448 pounds wet is heavy? wow.
Why would being 6', 130lbs make a difference in the type of bike you pick? You should pick a bike that you know you can handle, know your limits.

The bike's displacement has nothing to do with how comfortable it is for your height and weight. Some 600's are spacey, some are cramped. It depends on bar angle, bar position, peg position, and the relationship of the seat to those 3. A lot of which you can change if you find annoying.
I'm 6'4", and when I first started riding sportbikes I was 135lbs. I've picked up my FZR at 535 lbs (wet) (note to self.. grass is slippery). Sure, it wasn't EASY, but it was doable.
Each person is just going to have to find what is more comfortable for them.

i'm 6'2" and feel quite comfortable on my r6. it's not only height but body structure, etc, as well. i'm not sure if you've ridden before...but sitting on the bike and feeling the postition is quite different than when you are actually riding, uncomfotable can become comfortable and the opposite is true as well. (in my most humble, inexperienced opinion. )

I'm 6'1" 185lbs and my ZX9R is already a workout for me!
btw. This is my first bike and it's all about respect. If you don't respect the power, it will knock you out like a rag doll
