Default riding posture

well I am new to the whole riding phenomena, last night I went for a 15 minute ride around some empty roads and my hips are sore today, is there somethign i can do to help this. its a 94 CBR.

I read a lot of places that the CBR had a forgiving posture, is this something I just need to get used to?

I used to get that. Sometimes I would get muscle spasms too which made it that much more annoying.

In short, relax and start doing hip stretching exercises. Most people don't spend a lot of time in a croused position so it's a little new to your body. You will get used to it in time.

Ya if it really bothers you, stretch before you ride.

Just squeeze the gas tank and rise off the seat a little to put most of the weight on the pegs. Oh, losen up your arms by bending it or do the "chicken flap" to relax.

Flex your abs, too. That helps to take some of the weight off of your lower back. Make sure the ***** of your feet are on the footpegs. How tall and heavy are you?

Just wait until you do your first 4 hour+ ride. You get used to everything plus you are probably being to stiff since you are new. It all goes away.

Stretch you legs out, espcially your groin before riding, makes it easier to stay loose while riding. Also, lift upper body so you can more easily support your weight with ur forearms.

Personally, along with a normal workout, I use the inner-thigh machine at the gym - I feel it helps me hold onto the tank better. Yeah, it's mostly girls that use the machine, but I've honestly noticed that I'm less fatigued after a day of twisties.

So you're taller than the average rider. You might experience some discomfort, but like you said, the CBRs are, generally, ergonomically forgiving (except the new RRs).
