cruising craigslist and saw this. does anything seem...excessive/distracting about this bike?

That's just how they are, man. Those guys on beemers look like they're about to take a trip to the north pole.

 

its the cell phone that bugs me the most. i mean it wont work unless s/he's got bluetooth, and even then s/he has to dial so probably bending over to look at the phone because its hard to see the screen from that distance/angle. and then can a person even dial those buttons with riding gloves on? i guess there are touring squids just like there are sportbike squids except where sport bike squids brag about how much power or cc's their bike has, touring squids brag about how much crap they have strapped, plugged, and tapped(2garage door openers) to there bike.

it's like a car on two wheels. if i was going across country I would love one. otherwise I'll stick to something a little less bulky

Touring squids?

A squid, almost by definition, is someone who doesn't come prepared to ride. I've never seen someone on one of these bikes who wasn't prepared.

There are a lot of cruiser squids, though.

 

I guess you don't really ride your bike all that often... I can understand having that ****.

A lot of Bimmers can go 400 miles on a tank of gas... no reason you shouldn't have all the comforts a modern car does. Well, except for the four wheel thing, four wheels suck.

I nearly bought one of these when I was looking at supermotos:

I would've taken it to the Gap this year instead of the F4 again! I don't think the DRZ will do an 1,100 mile highway trip, though.
