Kinda hard to win when you're standing on your head.

What, no pics of him throwing a tantrum?

Rossi isn't cocky. Plus, he has every right to be if he wanted to.

Just confidence. Not cockiness. But every great athlete have to have a cockiness in them.

Oh, the excitement when he went down. I don't hate the guy, but I'm glad everyone else had a chance to win that day. He'll bounce back the next race, wooo can't wait.

Hopper and Edwards came sooo close to nailing him. While it sucks for Rossi he actually got pretty lucky.

Pretty sure the likes of Michael Jordan, Emmit Smith and Wayne Gretzky weren't cocky. Should I name a few more?

i stayed in orlando next to MJ one weekend, actually had the opportunity to sit down and hang out with him (i was 13 at the time) for about a half hour. id venture to say he has a little bit of cockiness in him. but its well deserved. its called pride and confidence as stated before. you have to be a little cocky when you are the man.

anyways, Rossi going down will make this year very interesting. you may see rossi ride harder than ever before because of the points deficit to start the season. this all depends on how perdrosi and the rest run for the next few races.

Racing requires a totally different mindset.

I don't want to debate if he is cocky or just confident but whichever it is he clearly intimidates every other racer with whatever it is. No one wants to make the guy mad and everyone is afraid of him when he's on their back wheel.

Even Colin the loud mouth Texan said he looks at Rossi's data because most of the time it's as close to perfect as you can get.

I bet he's won dozens of races on his intimidation alone. Every racer says he's going to win and he's the best rider out there, Rossi just seems cocky because he's the only one who can say it and do it on a regular basis.

I don't agree.. you will want to be confident in your abilities. A great athlete trains hard and smart. They remember their mistakes and applies what they learned to better their game. On game day, all they can do is believe in their abilities. What you've said will present cockiness in anyone.

I'd kill for a low self esteem world champion...

The best champions are usually very cocky - Vale is humble when compared with Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell, Juan Montoya, Michael Schumacher, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant.
