Default Internals

Just trying to do some research on bike engines and aftermarket parts for them but I am not sure on what brands to be looking at. I am not sure what one are good and crap when it comes to engine internals for bikes. i know of a few brands but would like more input on them and others.

Cams: Moriwaki, HRC, yoshimura, Web cams, Megacycle
Valves: APE, Moriwaki, Ferrera
Valve springs: APE
pistons: J&E and Wiseco
rods: Carillo

would like any info that anyone has.

Most people I know simply don't touch the internals of bike motors. Unless you're looking to build a dyno-queen or are drag racing, there are too many reasons to leave the internals alone. Replacement motors and transmissions are easier and cheaper to replace as whole units than rebuild.

But to answer your question, yes you are on the right track with the aftermarket companies you're looking at. Moriwaki sells completely built motors IIRC and HRC sells upgrade packages to transform your stock motor into a beast. Yoshimura is good, too, and may beat out the other upgrades on price point. Good luck.
