I would not get a bike just to pull wheelies. Have you ever ridden a bike before? If you answer that no, you are putting your self in harms way. If you have that attitude before you get a bike, you should consider not getting one.

Edit: I hope that you have a bike and know how to ride. I am not have to be mean, just trying to help a person from getting hurt

Nail the throttle in first gear.

OK.......well pop the clutch for any bike that can't get up on its own power, but I was just dickin' around, don't get a bike, you will die and your mother will miss you.

Learn to ride on two wheels first and the wheelie will come naturally...most likely on accident for the first time.

a rule that i have always used with newbies riders is ride consistent for at least one season, get used to the bike (about 3 or 4 months or longer depending on how much you ride) then start messing around.

but to pull a wheelie just go out and get the biggest bike you can find preferably an RC51, R1, or a gix 1k, hell get a busa. in your shorts, t-shirt and slippers (cuz its almost summertime and its hot you kno) start in first gear then pop the clutch. In clutch, more gas, out clutch. then hang on....BAM! instant wheelie.

An rc51 isnt a good wheelie machine. Thats one of the most planted bikes i've ever ridden.

That site has a small write-up on wheelies.

Well....on my 954 I go to half throttle smoothly in first gear and up it comes. In second gear I take the bike to about 6500 rpms and then go WOT very quick and up it comes. If you stand on the pegs, it comes up much easier due to weight transfer (never do this in 1st gear unless you have mad skillz).

P.S., I don't recommend wheelies because they are dangerous. They're also expensive if the cops see you do it or if you flip the bike. Massive damage. Keep the bike and yourself shiny and new!

I don't do wheelies myself. I also dont attract the attention of police or get any play from cool 'stunna chicks' either. Damn, what a loss.

Pretty good read. Just know your limits and slowly go further and further. Start with sit-downs and COVER THE REAR BRAKE!
