First off, the bike is a 1982 CM250 Custom. I bought the bike a couple
years ago with no problems at all. The first time I had this problem was
last year while driving home at night(although it only did it once in the past
year). The problem is the headlight will randomly not work when I try to start the bike after being driven a few miles. I don't have high or low beam. After the bike
has been sitting for a few hours, the light will turn on only when the ignition is switched to on, then when you try to start the bike the light will just quit again for another few hours.
Anybody have any idea what this might be? I took out the light and checked for loose connections or anything visual but there was nothing unusual. I also unplugged a connectors and spayed contact cleaner in them, but still nothing.
