i really want the RR but it dosent really matter ive looked at cost for other used bikes and there so much more cheaper, like the gsxr, and the R1 but i know the cbr is the best to own.
Best to own in what regards? They're relatively long-lived, if you keep up with maintenance. They've got an appetite for RRs and CCTs, but otherwise are bulletproof.
They tend to hold their resale value when comparing older bikes (ZX6E vs CBR-F3, for example).
As for people selling CBRs, I think there are two in this forum. You might also want to check the Classifieds/Marketplace forum.
What previous riding experience do you have?

Hey man, I graduated from Mizzou 1 1/2 years ago! I have since moved to Cleveland OH for a promotion....but damn do I miss CoMo....what a place.
Anyway, it took me a couple months to find a CBR local in decent shape. TONS on ebay...but I didn't really want a bike shipped to me before checking it out. Just be patient. In a small city like Columbia, MO, its gonna be hard to find something. Not sure where you're originally from, but STL or KC is a good bet. When you go home, check out the classifieds there - you'll have much better luck in a bigger city with a higher "non-college" population.

I think he mentioned the R1 only as an example of a less expensive motorcycle (hah! yeah right). He said he wanted a CBR600. Just never explained which specific model.

Actually if you look at the MSRP on the major manufactures websites, you will see Honda is usually middle of the pack in pricing. Depending on what dealerships you go to or where your looking they may seem higher. I know the dealerships around me put msrp on the sticker for Honda while usually $500 off some other bikes. Simple fact is the Hondas run better over the long run, and hence hold their resale value. People are still getting 2500 for a clean F2, and almost 4K sometimes for a low mileage F3. The 1000RR is Hondas new beast of course they are going to pull a premium because they are dominating on tracks all over.

You could throw a large blanket over the performance discrepancies between the Big Four literbikes. This year's winner will be next year's last place finisher. Same goes with the middleweights.
I say, just pick and choose the bike that most appeals to you. It's your money. Spend it how you want.

Yeah ive looked on Ebay for some.. but i kinda want to make payments on one.. I dont have any previous experience on a street bike but ive been riding dirtbikes for some time.. I like the cbr 600 a 1000 is prolly to much power for a new Street rider. ill just have to see what money i can come up with any one selling Give me a price of a bike and we can talk numbers..
why are you bumping? I think your question has been answered to the extent that it could possibly be answered.
Honda's might appear to be more expensive, but it's mostly because they hold their value much better than other bikes. That's something that'd be nice to invest in. Hondas are great anything (e.g. cars, bikes, other) and maitenance is always low. Other than the CCT problem that's common on some CBRs they don't have issues.
I'm selling my 03 F4i (silver black) with 9600 miles for 6400. It's got Yoshi RS-3 exhaust, brand new tires, flush mount front signals, Euro Undertail kit, Corbin seat, vortex frame sliders, pro grip tank protector, piaa headlights, and custom electric seat popper.
