Default Brake bleeding question

The time has come, I need to bleed my rear brake. One simple question. Can I leave the caliper on the bike and bleed it?? I read somewhere that I need to take it off and hold it higher than the master cylinder. Thanks guys.

Matt

You can leave the calipers on when bleeding your brakes. I haven't heard about needing to hold it higher than the MC.

Have a rag handy in case brake fluid gets on anything.

I like to use a Mityvac vacuum bleeder. Are you doing the fronts too?

How's the rain???

Sweet, sounds good guys, thanks.
Oh and the rain hasn't been bad lately. Living over in Sequim, we have a rainshadow so essentially the mountains catch all the rain before it gets here so its never really too bad. It's been nice the past few days, sprinkled a little today but not bad.

get a mity vac or something similar... I've bled my lines so many times now and it's so easy to do... I think I need to do my clutch cause somehow the fluid got dirty (leak in my mc seal maybe...)

Suck. I totally will next time I'm in an autoparts store and need to justify buying a tool.
