Adjustable?
I have been researching on a Honda CBR600RR. I hope to buy it next spring or summer, but the only thing I am a little worried about is the seat height. I understand that they have adjustable rebound and compression-damping adjustability of 0-4 inches. Does that mean that I can lower the bike 4 inches? Not that I want to lower it 4 inches, maybe about 1-2 inches. I can tip toe my right foot on the ground while my left is on on the gears, but I would feel much more comfortable with both feet on the ground. I won't be riding it like I stole it, just cruising around the streets and taking turns at like around 10-20MPH.
So it it ok to adjust the spring for 2 inches lower?

you can adjust the compression and rebound dampening.. emphasis on dampening.. not 0-4 inches of dampening.. you can't lower a bike without buying parts, like lowering links.. if you try to adjust it with the spring perch like you might your car, you change the preload of the spring, and the result would be an unfriendly bike to ride because you would have a softer preload fi you tried to lower it with the spring perch.. just tip toe.. long as your feet both touch the pegs when your riding, who cares if you can only tip toe when stopped.. i can't flat foot both feet and i'm 5'8'
why would you need to put both feet down anyway? I always laugh to myself when I see nearly every rider in so cal smoking the hush puppies from a stop
Best to use the pontoon method until you get some balance? better to stay off the public roads.

i love watching cruisers drag feet all the way across an intersection and then some. i weep when i see sportbikers do the same.
sometimes i wonder if they think they are gaining style points by doing the pontoon drag? or is that catamaran?

i think if it's going to bother you you should search for a bike that's got a lower seat height for yourself. What's the point of straining yourself on an RR if you're just going to cruise around on it? Get a cruiser.
i have an 05 r6 i bought not too long ago, i'm 5'2" 110 lbs. i shaved the seat down 2 inches, and put on foot down when stopping and switch foot depending on road crowns. i have been riding for about 2.5 months and learning still.
get some frame sliders. trust me you will drop it. i dropped my brand spanking new bike 4 times in 2 weeks, and after those times i have learned to balance the bike when stopping. it has almost come natural now. that part was the only part i was afraid of. now i am not afraid to ride because i can put my foot down. YOU CAN RIDE WITH ONE FOOT DOWN AT A LIGHT . when riding who puts both foot down anyways
TELL YOU NOW THOUGH, the 600rr seat is freaking thin hard as a rock and shaving that would let you sit on the subfrmame

I think it was a Suzki GSX-R750 that I sat on. I could put my right foot on the ground while having my other foot on the peg. The RR I believe is little lower than a 750. Guess I just have to go sit on an RR or an F4i.
