Check Engine light, Shocking shifting,New transmission and solenoid.
Hi I recently bought a 2010 Honda Pilot, Car looked good and drove good and with 120k mileage perfect as family car. Only 2 days after buying the car trouble started. At certain times the check engine light came on and gear shifting becomes very shocking instead of a smooth transfer.
I went back to the dealer and they said the solenoid needed to be replaced. Luckily I was still in my warranty so no costs for me. But after they changed the solenoid the problem was still there and got even worse. So they said the whole transmission needed to be replaced. Because of their insurance, delivery time of the transmission and installation time took 2 months to get it back. After fixing some other stuff they found while working on the car I picked it up yesterday. Driving to work this morning the problem came back again.
So don't what is causing this and apparently the mechanics of a Honda dealer don't know either so maybe someone here has a idea.
So when it happens, check engine, VSA and triangle with ! light up. If I restart the car the problem goes away. It never happens right away from a cold start but after driving 20 miles within the city. And my idea is it happens when the VTEC kicks in but not 100% sure.
Hopefully someone can help

Interesting. Do you know what error codes are being produced? VSA and Traction control lights are part of the ABS module. Could be a CAN communication error or a failing ABS module but without the error codes that is speculation.
