Spent the past couple of days searching, calling dealers and even a JDM supplier to no avail. Honda has completely discontinued both STD and OVERSIZE pistons (and rings) for the 1.0 litre gas engine.

Scott does not stock any of these, and the best he can do is a 100k+ used engine, which defeats the idea of a fresh rebuild on an existing engine.

I'm running into dead in after dead end. Has anyone successfully petitioned major aftermarket piston manufacturers to pick up a model series that's been out of production a while? I noticed that Summit carries pistons for Ford Pinto 2.0 engines, and I'd bet there are way more Honda Insights on the road today than Pintos.

 

Pinto is used in a circle track racing class. That's why they still exist.

Call up a major performance piston manufacturer like JE or CP. They will make whatever you want for a price.
