This is only my opinion, but if by "tuning" you mean installing various modifications such as intake, headers, and exhaust- I think that it is definitely "worth it". You can add 8 whp with a PRM intake system, and a bolt-on Megan Racing axle-back exhaust will give your Fit a very nice voice that isn't at all obnoxious (but not necessarily any added power). A Progress Rear Anti-Sway Bar will improve your handling so much that you will wonder how you got along without it until now. Adding Monroe MA-811 Air Shocks to the rear will give you up to 1200 lbs. extra load capacity, and will improve the ride comfort and handling immensely. The '08 record holder in the Northern California Stock "B" Class AutoX is a Fit with Gabriel Air Shocks on the rear.

I mentioned all of these mods because that's what I had on my '07 Sport Auto until I wrecked it. I now have similar mods on my '09 Sport Auto. The Air Shocks are Monroe MA-973, the PRM intake picks up the cold air in a different place than the '07 Fits get cold air, and Megan does not make anything yet for the '09s. So I fabbed up an axle-back exhaust using a stainless steel muffler from Aero Turbine Exhaust in Utah. The exhaust actually makes power and increases mpg. It is easier to put on a GD3 than it was to put on my GE8. I have a short thread on the exhaust on this forum (New Exhaust Fits GD3 and GE8). BTW, this muffler will fit any car or truck, and provide the same advantages- lifetime warranty, more power, better mpg, and GREAT sound. I doubt that you have the same restrictions on modified exhaust in PA as we have in CA, but another advantage of the Aero Turbine is that it is smaller than the stock muffler, and can be tucked up high under the floor so that it isn't obvious that the exhaust is modified.

Many available mod parts do not add performance, just looks, or sound. But even so, they make your car uniquely yours depending upon what you choose to buy and install. If you chose good parts, they will increase the value of your Fit. If that increased value is only in your own opinion, it's still real. You are building your car to suit yourself after all. Whatever you do to it, some people on these boards will hate it. So what?
