Fits perfect
Our dealership just received 4 Fits today and i had a chance to test it. Unfortunately they were only available in automatic w/ sport shift.
I must admit i was happy but not enthusiastic that Honda was coming out with a new sub-compact model. Pictures did not do justice. I thought the car looked ok in the pictures but the car looks much nicer in person. Its bigger than i expected.
Besides the price, the interior is the main selling point. Extremely versatile! The rear seats fold into a bunch of positions. Seat bottom folds up allows for enough space to fit a llama, lol. Fold the seat back down and its kinda like a small pick up bed.
Im 6'0" and once im seated i have about 8 inches of head room. The cabin overall is extremely spaceous for the cars size however i noticed the shoulder space and leg room to be slightly restrictive. Dash layout is very ergonomic and pleasing to the eyes. Interior plastics are on par with much more expensive vehicles.
OK so the car has a whopping 109 horsepower. Tapping the throttle around the dealerships parking lot the Fit seemed to have quite a bit of kick. At this point the car did not go through its PDI (pre-delivery inspection) so i was not able to drive it off the lot. So far its definitely much better than the other econo-boxes ive rented.
Once the PDI was completed i took the car out for a spin. Considering its light weight it was reasonably quick and very nimble. According to Car and Driver, during the lane change maneuvers its quicker and more nimble than a Corvette! The Fit seemed very confident in turns although exit speeds were slightly off pace. Of course the engine was not broken in yet and i did not fully test the vehicle for speed and handling.
Its main competitors are the Toyota Yaris and Nissan Versa. I havent had the chance to drive the two however ive had the chance to see the two close up at a recent car show. The Yaris and Versa do not compare as explained by Car and Driver.
I was recently planning an EF Civic or CRX project but now im pretty set of changing things around to a Fit project. I look forward to owning the car and im sure these will be selling by the boat load.
Two thumbs up!

Thanks for the info, so i take it that some dealerships have already gotten their fit's in before 4/20, I will definetely stop by my dealership later on today, car looks like it's extremly well built.

That doesn't make any sense.

look at the tiny exhaust.
i am too contemplating on getting a Fit due to the high gas prices.
i wish it would come with a sunroof.
cant wait to check it out in person

was looking at buying something cheap (read less than $1500) but I might just pony up and get one of these bad boys. Looks like I'd be able to fit my band equipment in the back too!
yeah. maybe honda will come out with a Limited (like subaru) or a extra Sun package (like Mits.) and add a sunroof and leather and other luxuries.
In my eyes, the perfect fit would be AWD and have a moonroof. i don't really like leather too much.

sold my first Fit yesterday! Nighthawk black pearl.
The only reservation i have about it is that the Sport model came with a slightly higher horsepower engine or if there was an SI or Type R version available.
