Ecm code 2009 fit

Ecm code 2009 fit showes 83-1
ecm pcm relation malfunction
What is this and what do I need to do to fix it
My daughters car and she is at college.

Try disconnecting the battery and wait 5 minutes or so and reconnect the battery and see if that code is still there. Doing that resets the ECM.
