Default Iso help with my 01 crv

I was driving home from work yesterday and my 01 crv was driving fine, then the check engine light started flashing and it shut off and didnt start again. We pushed it off the road and popped the hood and 1 of the plug wires was popped off at the cap so we plugged it back in and still nothing (they are new plug wires too btw). Just trying to narrow it down so i can fix it without spending a ton of money on it.

ok first steps would be to check the check engine codes , get a paper click there is a blue service plug behind the center console on the passenger side you kind have to stick you head in the foot well area and you will see it inside a green holder usually..

and also check for fuel and spark if there isnt any codes.

It's tough to know if this is your problem without knowing the code that's stored, but Hondas tend to be pretty sensitive to aftermarket secondary ignition parts (e.g. plugs, wires, caps, rotors). I spent a number of years wrenching for an Acura dealer in the early 00's, and we had MANY drivability issues roll in due mostly to cheap wires. The only aftermarket wires that seem to be truly Honda-friendly are NGK wires, and I suspect it's because NGK makes the OE wires also. You can generally find the blue NGK wire sets on Ebay and other sites for about 50-70 bucks, and if you've moved on from the originals and it wasn't to those, I'd suggest getting a set of those. As for any other diagnostics, follow the procedure to retrieve the code first, then reply back.
