Honda CRV - Dead after start

Honda CRV - Dead after start
I own 2012 Honda CRV Ex Model , automatic, diesel.
Last night temperatures were -5.
Started car, all good. Put the heating on (AC as well), left it running for 20 mins to warm up.
But then when I get to drive the car, I noticed the steering wheel was still locked and the reading lights inside the car was going dim as if battery was dying.
Then more and more light came on and warning, Check system.
I switched off the car and it never turned back on.
I am really worried as I just bought it second hand and paid £16000.00 for it.
Can somebody please advice.

Re: Honda CRV - Dead after start
I am presuming you have a Mk4 CRV clarification on this would help others.
You problem sound like you have drained the battery and the alternator is not charging the system.

Sorry don't know what MK4 means.
But by the means of update, I got it jump started last night. It came same sgnals of locked steering and dim light.
Then left it on for a while and gave some escalator push, it came out of dive and steering unlocked and the light became normal as well.
Left it to run for an hour.
This morning it started ok.
Do you think it was the altenator that gave up but now came to life as it drained the full life out of battery in the first place and now it just started working

Re: Honda CRV - Dead after start
Malikjitin,
Mk = Mark So far Honda have produced the Mk 1, 2, 3 and 4 hence by your year date I deduced you had a Mk 4.
Further to your problem suggest you do some research regarding Honda Service Bulletin 12-041

Re: Honda CRV - Dead after start
from online research it seems to be alternator as :-
At firs car starts ok, then battery and steering wheel dies which suggests they are not getting enough power.
After jump, as the temperature increases the altenator starts working.
It seems the altenator is giving up. But will update you once I get it checked out
