88hb std w/ a non-vtec obdo z6. my car had been sitting for a while so my battery died (wal-mart ) went to jump start it and started fine. parked my friends truck, and when i walk up to my car, it died. tried starting it and when i turned the key to the on position, the main relay clicks real fast, and the dash lights flicker w/ the main relay clicking. after a quick check of my battery, grounds, and wiring, everything seems to be fine. thought it might be my ecu(i have one chipped and a stock pm6), so i switched them out and the same thing. (ecu blinks w/ the click of the relay as well) i pulled the ecu fuse when switching them. just out of curiosity i turned the key to the on position w/ the fuse pulled. no clicks or flashing dash lights. tried w/ the fuse back in and the flashing and clicking is back. is there a short somwhere, or has a component failed?

 

similar thing happening to me my car wont start and the gauge cluster light bulbs wont turn on piece of **** cars!!!!!

 

You've checked and know the main relay to be good?

 

maybe your alternator is dead and keeps killing your battery.

 

switch the relay with one that is known to be good, can you hear the fuel pump prime?

 

could a bad main relay do this? i thought it would just keep the fuel pump from priming. what runs through the main realy besides the fuel pump. left my haynes back home

 

Check your ground on the thermostat

teh key on but keep the engine off, if the relay clicks once and the CEL goes away then its a battery/alternator issue

 

my fuel pump does not prime but i know its not my main realy because i took it out and i check it and its good. plus you can here a click noise when you try to start the car.

check the ground on your t-stat housing

 

already did good ground there

 

I have a Honda Civic 2004 was driver died out clicking under glove box green key light flashing an dash lights as well
