disk brakes?
planning on upgrading my brake system what would be better with less stress
big brake upgrade in the front
or integra front and rear disk..?

a big brake kit would probably be an easier item to put on to your car considering you would not have to go to the JY to source parts. IMO I would leave the rear drum brakes as they work fine & they require less maintanence. If you want bling then do whatever is easier to obtain that stunnariffic look.

VERY true, but the stopping power isnt that much greater......e-brake wise rear disc are better, my lude's lock up and the civic's drum e-brake barely works.

My E-brake for my rear disc conversion stopped working after like 8 months. I set it to the tightest position and still hardly holds the car. The cables and stuff are still hooked up. What the hell could have happened?

disk brakes are just easier to service and deal with heat better. Not much of an upgrade. a big brake kit is a waste unless you upgrade all four wheels, as you'll throw the brake bias off with just a front kit.

Yes, for stopping power, you'd have to redo your brake lines to the rear to get the rear discs to brake as hard as the fronts; discs require more pressure than drums. I have rear discs on my EF, but no bling to show them off.... I'm working on that, the ol' steelies are getting the boot.

I did the rear disk swap for $200 and about 2 hours. The fact that I cannot and do not want to learn how to work on drum brakes is the main reason I did it. Secondary is better performance, and better looks.
I just think it looks retarded to have this decked out car. Wheels, B series engine, Turbo, running 12's with DRUMS in the back.
Just seems out of proportion. Like Altezza lights on a JDM car, kinda sorta.
As far as suggestions, I'd get an integra rear disk swap, change out the Prop valvem MC and booster, and get the 10.4" brake kit for the front from Fastbrakes. You'll be stopping as fast as a supercar with all that. Seriously.

Where do you see a 10.4'' kit on their site? All I see is 11''. I want a kit that is like EX sized stuff but I can never find any damn EX knuckles for sale and I think fastbrakes would be easier to install.

It depends on your setup and purpose. On a drag car, I would leave the drums because of the fact that they're much lighter than disc brakes. Of course it depends on your engine's performance. It might require the extra stopping power. As far as EF rear discs and EF DX drums, there isn't much difference in stopping power but the discs do look much better. my .02

Im putting the 11.1" prelude rotors on the front of mine. To increase performance AND to fill in the space for my 16's. Irotors.com is sending me the prelude rotors with the correct bolt pattern for the crx. cost=$185. expensive, yes they are.
To avoid headaches, just use the 10.2 (or 10.6?) integra rotors and calipers.j

I have the DA front conversion... 10.2" or 10.4" or 10.6", whatever it is, they're waaaay bigger than the stock brakes, and the calipers are much larger also (piston bore is larger). You should note that they'll slow you right down though - these suckers are HUGE and quite heavy. I'm going to the dragstrip on Friday so I'll post results as to how much they slowed me down on average Plus I've had to replace everything except the hub, the wheel bearings and the knuckles, so save yourself some money and only buy the hard parts and replace all wearable items if you do Integra stuff You'll also need a set of spacers if you have '88-'89 Si wheels (evidently '90-'91 wheels fit). Mine barely fit; the caliper is freakin' huge.
I'm still using stock CRX Si M/C, booster, and proportioning valve as well as stock CRX Si brake lines with tons of kilometers and stock rear drum brakes. What the guy said above was very true - you won't notice much difference with the Integra brakes... at least, until you hit the brakes hard. The car stops like an anchor has been thrown out right now (I can lock 'em up from 60km/h pretty easily), but because the front calipers are so much larger, the proportioning between front and rear has been thrown out the window. The effect of this is until the rears are at max stopping power, the fronts aren't really doing anything, so I get a really sloppy brake pedal until the fronts engage, and then *whoompf* it slows you right down. Not that great of a setup, just temporary until I can convert to rear discs and get the correct proportioning valve, master cylinder and booster... I'm getting full Integra brakes eventually.
As people said before, I don't care if the discs make me slower; working on drum brakes is SUCH a PITA. They're impossible to adjust right, they're messy, and I hate them
