i got a 88 civic with a zc motor the ecu is throwing a 5 8 how can i fix this

what is 5 and 8? sorry i don't have my cheat sheet in front of me.

 

Code 5 = MAP Sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure) mechanical problem / disconnected piping

Code 8 = TDC Sensor (Top Dead Center) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor

Very common problem on zc swaps. Happened to me. Check to make sure the sensors are plugged into the right harnesses! Code 8 could be a defective distributor maybe. If i remember right i think thats what it is. I cant remember 100% but definetly check make sure you didnt switch any plugs!

what does the TDC sersor look like.

 

i threw 8 when timing won't right. code 5 when vacume leakin or criss crossed
