"Before the baby comes", EF project.
Just picked up a 89 hatch last night.
This is my last chance to have tuning fun before my baby is born!
Plus, my wife is making me make the car baby safe.
Good:
All the glass is good.
5speed.
New battery.
And yeah.
Bad:
Needs some body work.
Needs a new clutch.
Some other stuff.
Pictures in about 15 minutes.

Here are the pics.
The car came with a Vtec head, FULL exhaust, 2 more EF bumpers ( I already have 2 ), a 4-2-1 header, and some other neat stuff. NONE of it is installed yet.

Re: "Before the baby comes", EF project.
I have a hatch waiting, gonna go poke around the junk yard for some doors while I pick up some CRX Si seats they have, I have 4 ef bumpers, need a rear.
Otherwise I'm gonna send it to a body shop to do the rear quarter done, plus repainted.
I have new shoes on the way from Wheeldude.com, I have a Type R motor I'm gonna buy from my friend. It happens to be the whole swap. Everything from the ECU to Shift linkage is covered. I'm going to Schucks this Tuesday to pick up 2 new CVs and a clutch kit.
Annnnnd it Currently has a D15B2!
Also picking up some speaker pods this Tuesday as well. Gonna throw in some Type R Alpine speakers in all the holes, plus a 10" Type R sub. Working at Best Buy rocks
So in the 7 months I have ahead of me, here are the plans for my Hatch!
Type R motor swap
Integra/ CRX Si interior
Integra brake bits
Skunk2 suspension bits
PWJDM Suspension bits
Fix up exterior
Make it baby safe!
Which includes a Recaro baby seat =D

140,540 haha.
I would die if it were either figures.
One in excitement, one in disgust.

Re: "Before the baby comes", EF project.
I'm not gonna lie, most of it will be done in a shop.
So turnaround times will be low.
Especially for the motor swap, I hear it would take about 3-4 weeks. I'm hoping the body work doesn't take too long, I'm estimating round 3 weeks for it to get done.
Uhhh, and for all the other stuff.. I'm gonna do it! I want to be able to say I did at least one thing on it.. Hahaha.
I know! I was sketchy on the miles. BUt I figured since the motor is getting swapped..
And does anyone know how to reset the miles to zero? I want to do that when the motor gets swapped.

It took me longer to cut and paste and type this than it did to search the faq's....
good luck with both projects, the hatch and the kid......

dont take this the wrong way or anything but when most peaple are having a baby they sell their project cars not start building one. I was just wondering because you've got some work ahead and you plan on doing very little of it on your own.

I'm a new father myself and if you ask me I would say that this guy is just being smart. I sorely wish I could have done another project car before my son was born. As long as he has everything else in place for the baby he should be fine, but once the baby is born his life will be over lol.

^^^
Yeah, everything for the baby is purchased.
From the swing, baby seat, food, I literally have 1000 diapers, and countless other things already bought and accounted for.

Soooo.. My friend sold the Type R from under me!
But I'm gonna pick D16Z6.
That's basically a direct swap right? No special mounts or anything?
I hear it's just the ECU.. And yes I searched the faq, nothing about the swap except a mini-me. Forget that mess.
