I think my gas meter isn’t working right but does anyone know how much gallons will fit in my 89 HF? The meter was almost empty so I filled it up but it only takes 4.5 gallon. My friend told me that it was 8 gallons and I searched to found out people selling 12-gallon gas tank.

 

happened to my dads CRX we just kinda dealt with it till it magicly fixed it self about a year later.

sorry not much help but car gets about 300 miles a tank no matter what driving

 

i think 9 or 11 gallon.

 

in my 90 hf i can squeeze in 10 gallons when i am on E, and i have actually drivin it till i ran outa gas but i forget how much i put in afterwards.

EDIT: Just looked it up in my crx manual 10.6 Gal tank for the HF, and 11.9 Gal. tank in the SI (Thats for 1990 though)

Did you check the sending unit and see if its corroded? I have a Civic 4dr DX and my gauge would not go over half tank. The sending unit's contacts were almost corroded through. Replaced that first then ended up getting a used tank for cheap due to the corrosion.

Replacing the sending unit fixed the problem for me though.

 

because I don't know how much gas will fit in my tank.
