Default First time replacing a clutch..

Have a 90 civic wagon all stock so it’s still cable just did my very first clutch job but for some reason im having issues with gear changes..? New flywheel, disc, PP, pilot bearing, TOB and and release spring everything was smooth an did it all by the book I made sure everything was torqued to spec I lubed up what I needed to 🤭 used a alignment tool put the tans back on without any issues but when I went for the first test drive it best way to describe it would be disengaging or engaging issues? Definitely not how a new clutch should feel.. one minute it goes into gear fine (kinda) but the next I’m fighting to get it into gear and having to turn the car off and back on for it to even budge… any tips or advice? Please don’t be mean… I’m sensitive…

Definitely sounds like it could be your clutch cable. Did you adjust it per the FSM? Not every clutch is created equal.

Does it feel as if the clutch is slipping? As in not engaging the pressure plate fully.
