Does act 6 puck unsprung clutch wear out faster??
does the ACT 6 puck unsprung clutch wear out faster then a oem clutch....and about how many miles are those clutches good for?? I am going to get one for my ls/vtec turbo crx.
i strongly suggest you read a little more on this.
an unsprung clutch is a bad idea for a daily driver, but great for just racing
i realize some Know everything 17 year old will come on here and say otherwise, but its simply not a good i dea.
and yes it will wear faster under normal driving conditions than an oem clutch
but it will also stand up to more of a beating than an oem clutch.
most stock clutches will fail after a handful of hard launches.
but they can last 80,000 miles under normal use
my act 6 puck lasted about 10,000
my suggestions are decide how often you will be driving, and figure out the most "confortable" clutch you can stand that will stnd up to the amout of torque/beating you will be delivering
will you actually be daily driving a 400+ torque car? probably not
would a 4 puck sprung do the job? probably
again opinions will vary
good luck

Everyone i know has that clutch and is daily driving it...i have driven a car during traffic witht hat clutch and its not really that bad...after your use to it..it feels like driving a normal car with a normal clutch...i just wanna know how long they last.....because when i put a clutch in i dont feel like changing it for a while
I need a clutch that is good and cant handle launching hard every weekend....and also daily drive....the car is a built ls vtec turbo..running anywhere between 18-22psi when racing and 10 daily......
22psi!?!?! so youre gonna run it on like 400whp?! youll spin the whole track in a crx
6 puck sprung is fine. I rolled one for 2 years. they do were out faster like it was stated above and it IS harsher on the drivetrain , thats why its not recommended for daily driving. you can do it, and yes get used to it but its still rough regardless.

I've been rocking a 6 puck unsprung clutch for the better part of 19 years. If you wear it out, means you can't drive for **** oem is trash compared to ACT
