Tire question. Anyone riding on Falken Azenis?
Is anyone riding on or has had a set of Falken Azenis? Please give me your opinion on these tires and your comments from experience with them. Thanx in advance.

current tires for me.
great dry, grippy, sticks to the ground.
sucky when wet, just look at the tread pattern.
great tire, best bang for your buck.

I have them on my other car which is RWD 225/45-17's Great grip, extremely stiff sidewalls, noisy once they get 6-8k miles on them. I have no problems in the rain even with RWD and no LSD.

i have a set on my 99si rims & new set on the 01gsr rims. my bro spun out and did a 360 hitting a rail using my gsr rims, messed up his quarter-panel & bent my wheel. for my crx, the 99si wheels lost grip of the road when i was braking. almost hit a semi that ran a late red, lucky he used his horn to alert me early. ever since that, i took them off and put on the stock michelin xgt tires. i forgot the series on my si wheels.
overall, i would say they are good for launching and road handling, but suck for braking.

Ok, grip is grip, if they have good launch grip and cornering grip they have good braking grip. The tires don't know what you're doing, they only know how much weight is on them and how much slip angle they're experiencing, and they react accordingly. Sounds like something is really wrong with your braking system to me, but hey, i wasn't there.
The Azenis are awesome in the dry and in the wet. They're the best gripping tires I've driven short of my victoracers, and they're holding up better than expected after 2k miles of pretty hard use.

I don't understand the problems people are having with rain. Are you driving excessively fast over small lakes? Seriously.
ULTRA911 - I read your post about 20 times and still don't get it. SiLooksStock is right, grip is grip.

Here's the follow-up question that I'm surprised that I haven't seen yet:
With 15" Azenis, do anyone's tires rub? FYI: I've got Eibach Pros and SSR Type X's; I've heard about them rubbing or people adjusting their lcas to get them to work.
My SP9000s are on their last legs, and I don't drive the crx daily anymore, so I can go to a tire that I don't have to worry about in the rain or noise, etc.
As far as wet weather traction, the usual story that I get is that they're fine in normal rain, but lose traction in standing water/deep puddles.

same here, but it depends on how much rain you get... my car does have a tendency to get rather squirrally above 50 mph in the rain..

are these better gripping tires then the 555r drag radials..i like the nittos cuz they make a a 225/45 which is nice and wide and has a lower side wall..meaning a tiny bit more of accelaration. and they arent too expensive.
wat do the azenis cost and come in size for my 15"s

they grip less than 555r's, because the 555r's are "R" compound tires, as in racing tires..

Buy them. They're great.
I liked them so much after punishing them @ lime rock,
that I bought sets for both my cars.
plus... oh so cheap!!!... gotta love 205/50/15's
