Icon2 Technical difficulties..

So, this may be long, I'll try to keep it short, though. Alright, it's a '99 CR-V, only has 90k miles on it. First things first: Some years ago some idiot rigged an after-market alarm system on it. I don't have the remote, and was told it would be quite spendy to have it removed. So the other day, it wouldn't start, got someone to jump me off, no problems since. I took the battery off to see if it had dry cells. All seemed fine. Put the battery on, and when I put the connections back the alarm started going off. So.. Since I was feeling brave, I looked under the steering column and what a mess.. So, I decided to take the alarm itself apart and just see if there was a wire that could easily be unplugged. Negative. So I put it back together and mounted it back in place. Put the battery connections back and the alarm was still alive. I decided to just start the car, and voila, the alarm stopped. Well.. Now, even when the engine is off, I hear a clicking under the steering column, a beep coincides with it, and the parking light flashes along with it. It does it for a little bit and stops. I cranked it, still beeps, still clicks, still flickers lights. Although it does stop after a minute. What the HECK did I do?! I checked the fuse box, all seems secure.. Battery connections secure. And it didn't do this before I dissected the alarm and put it back together. I also noticed that the signal lights outside flash also. Any help would be appreciated, or ideas anyway. Thanks in advance.

first thing I would do is figure out what brand and model alarm it is. Then you'll have a starting point. Normally it should state that on the 'brain' itself.

I did do that, sorry I didn't mention it. Not a name in sight! Everything is hooked up fine, the problem now is the clicking and beeping under the steering column, not even concerned with the alarm at this point. Also, not sure if it would be relevant, but before all this started the car would just cut-off while driving sometimes, but start back up. Mechanics could never find anything wrong.

wow...if there's not even a name or number in sight there's not much anyone can do to help you out. Not being an *** or anything, sorry if it sounds like it, but I'm just being realistic. Who knows, if someone tells you to snip a wire...that could ultimately mess up your car depending on how that box/brain is wired to everything. That's the one thing that sucks about electrical stuff.

go to the alarm/sound/audio section and post it there..
theres a lot of alarm gurus there...
or you could take it to a local caraudio shop or alarm shop..maybe bestbuy or something and get a cheap alarm just for remote lock and a little alarm..

the alarm you have has a disable on it. it either disables the starter (it obviouslly doesnt, because youre able to start it) or the ignition. Its 99% disabling the ignition. You should be able to see that the power wire going to the ignition is cut and is going to a relay. just reenable power going to this wire and remove the relay/alarm/wiring/ect.

yea^^ shouldnt be to bad if it was just a alarm. pull down the screws under the dash and you should see the wiring to your left. here is what you would be looking for disconnect any t taps and you should be good. they should of got power there too.
