Default Engine-light-big-problrm

I have never ending problems with my 2015 Honda CrV EXL. The latest is the check engine light problem. The code is P062F: internal control Module EEPROM error. The car is running fine but it cannot pass the emission test to renew registration, so i only have one month to solve the problem before renewing my registration. The Honda specialist said it needs a new computer and reprogramming which will cost 2700 dollars which i don't have since i am living on my SS paycheck to paycheck. I tried resetting it but the light kept coming back. I'm in real trouble. Any help or advice is desperately needed and appreciated.
Sam.

It will need a replacement PCM and programming. $2700 is probably excessive. That is probably new parts at dealership parts and labor prices.

Check if an independent shop near you will source and install a used PCM. I bet it will be under $1000 going that route.

Just checking on used PCM availability on car-part.com. Looks like anywhere from $50 to $175 for the EX-L PCM depending on what part of the country you are in. Let's say 2 hours to R&R and program. Maybe $400 in labor on the high end.
