Hi!
I have a 1990 Honda Accord. Lately it is giving a weird problem. The S light is on always, and as a result, the car seems to start in 3rd or 4th gear. "All Data" tells me that the most probable cause for this problem is the automatic transmission control unit.
I was wondering if anyone experienced a similar problem before, and how much it cost to repair it. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

 

i have the EXACT same problem.

 

There's a Honda Service Bulletin for this problem. See if a dealer near you will let you see it. There's an upgraded control unit to correct this.

That is a very common problem with that year car,replace the trans control unit
