CRV 1/4 time?
first and foremost... the most recent crv is 2nd gen. the first gen (120-130 hp or so.. i forget exact numbers) prolly ran slow as ****. i don't even know.. the engine only came out for 1-2 years if i'm correct. the 1st gen with up'd hp (142hp) runs like 16.8-17.0 i think that's for automatic. i'm not sure with the 5spd tho.
first of all, u don't really buy a crv for its 1/4 mile time. but if you really want to know, it's slow off the line, on the highway it's a little better above 3000rpm. i have a 97 automatic. 1/4 mile is over 18 seconds for sure, it's adequate for daily use imo.

thats what i don't understand really, a lot of pple say that the 1/4 mile is a benchmark for a cars performance. it jsut seems they worry about raw power going straight. i know the cars putting down good 1/4 times are probably able to handle as well, but it just seems uncertain.
to me, a good benchmark for performance would be the slalom.

good performance benchmark would be a test track, which encompasses all the driving experiences. dry, wet, chicanes, high speed corners, low speed corners, U turns, etc. something like this really shows what a car is good at.
exactly. 0-60 isnt, and the 1/4 mile is become a worse benchmark. because more and more cars are being tuned for top end (over 100mph) and a lot of cars now dont do over 100 in the 1/4. if they did something like a 3/4 mile then that would be a really good benchmark, because you could see who is better a low end, middle, and top.
