Default 00-01 engine difference?

My girl has a 01 Honda crv and the motor just let go tiger Japan has the 00 motor for about 350 cheaper than the 2001 engine trying to figure out the main difference between the two motors as to why the price would vary so much

Maybe one has more miles on it, or the supplier just paid a different price for that motor due to its age. Im not seeing any changes in those two years due to the fact that they both come from the same generation crv.

'99 - '01 are the same. Also Tiger has an absolutely horrible reputation. I'm not going to say buy from Hmotors and no one else, but I'd buy from a lot of other importers before I bought from Tiger.

Are there any importers local to you, i'd try that first. We have a couple near me.

00 and 01 are a B20z were as 97-99 is B20B. B20z is more compression, different intake manifold, most noticeably the large "box" on to of the manifold. Has like 10hp more than b20b, but also is more common to have the "tight valve random misfire" problems.

'99 - '01 is B20Z
'97 - '98 is B20B

All JDM CR-V engines are stamped B20B low compression or not.

Btw, the B20Z has 20hp over the B20B, not 10.
