Wow was that really all one sentence?
I've read that twice now and I'm still not any higher than 50% sure what you're talking about.
Just swapping random engine heads doesn't net you a mini-me FYI.

The D16Y5 is not a SOHC VTEC. It's a SOHC VTEC-E.
D16Y5
1.6L SOHC VTEC-E
115hp @ 6200rpm
104lb-ft @ 5400rpm
9.4:1
D16Y7
1.6L SOHC non-VTEC
106hp @ 6200rpm
103lb-ft @ 4600rpm
9.4:1
D16Y8
1.6L SOHC VTEC-II
127hp @ 6600rpm
107lb-ft @ 5500rpm
9.6:1

Why don't you learn what you're talking about first.
"VTEC is VTEC" is not a true statement. All "VTEC" is not the same.
And yes, you are coming off as an ******* now.

the bottom end is bad on the old engine. that's why i put a new one in to begin with.
can i swap the heads "like" a mini me or should i just go get the ecu. i think the ecu for the engine i got was an a/t. i have a m/t. what should i do? anyone????? i just wanna get it runnin good. i'm not tryin to do any thing big right now. ls turbo by end of summer.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I just re-read this to figure out exactly what you wanted to know again.
If you're going to do an LS turbo at the end of summer, why do anything to this motor? JUst keep it stock, run it for a few months and then go LS turbo. Don't expletive with what you have right now and just sell the Y5 head to someone who might be able to use it.

The you should focus on getting the Y7 that's currently in the car running right. Don't worry abotu swapping heads and such.
Are you still using the Y5 ECU?
